Your Mid-Year Reset

July 2, 2026

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year.

Six months ago, many of us started January with fresh goals, big intentions, and a vision for what this year would become.

Maybe some of those goals are moving exactly as planned.

Maybe you’ve accomplished more than you expected.

Or maybe life happened.

The priorities shifted.
The unexpected showed up.
The goals that felt exciting in January don’t even fit who you are anymore.

And that’s exactly why a mid-year review matters.

Not because you need to work harder or because you’re behind.

Because the most fulfilled people don’t spend twelve months running in the wrong direction.

They pause.
They reflect.
They realign.

And then they move forward with intention.

Why Most People Need a Mid-Year Reset

One of the biggest mistakes high-achievers make is assuming that persistence is always the answer.

Sometimes it is.

But sometimes the wiser move is to stop and ask:

Is this still the life I want?
Am I still moving in the right direction?

The reality is that people change.

Seasons change.
Priorities change.

What mattered deeply six months ago may not be what matters most today.

Too many leaders keep pursuing the goals they set in January without stopping to ask if those goals still align with who they are becoming.

Growth requires us to revisit our goals as our lives, priorities, and purpose shift.

The goal isn’t to stay committed to old plans.

The goal is to stay committed to building a life that feels aligned.

Fulfillment isn’t accidental. It’s intentional.

And intentional people regularly stop to evaluate whether their time, energy, and actions are aligned with what matters most.

The Mid-Year Reality Check

Before setting a single new goal, start here.

1. Reflect on Your Values

Most people focus on goals before they focus on values.

That’s backwards.

Values are the foundation of every meaningful decision.

When your goals align with your values, progress feels fulfilling.

When they don’t, even success feels empty.

Ask yourself:

• What matters most to me right now?
• What season of life am I in?
• Have my priorities shifted?
• Am I spending my time in ways that reflect what I say I value?

If you need help identifying your values, use my values clarifier HERE.

It’s a free tool I created to help high-achievers get clear on what matters most so they can make aligned decisions and take aligned action.

2. Review Your Past Six Months

Look back before you look forward.

Open your calendar.
Review your photos.
Scroll through your journal.

Ask yourself:

• What am I most proud of?
• What brought me joy?
• What drained my energy?
• What lessons did I learn?
• What surprised me?
• Where did I grow?

Too often we rush past our progress and immediately focus on what’s next.

But growth deserves to be acknowledged.

You cannot build sustainable success if you never stop to recognize how far you’ve come.

3. Evaluate Your Alignment

One of the core principles of the Fulfilled Life Formula is alignment.

When life feels heavy, it’s often because something is out of sync.

Ask yourself:

Identity
Am I being true to who I really am?

Energy
Where is my energy going—and is it aligned with what I value?

Purpose
Am I spending time on things that feel meaningful?

Growth
Am I moving toward the person I want to become?

Then ask the harder questions:

• What needs more attention?
• What needs to change?
• What am I tolerating that no longer fits?

4. Decide What to Stop

Most people only think about what they need to start doing.

But often the breakthrough comes from what you’re willing to stop.

Ask yourself:

• What is one thing that, if I stopped doing it, would immediately improve my life?
• What commitments no longer align?
• What expectations am I carrying that aren’t mine to carry?
• Where am I saying yes when I really mean no?

Remember:

Every yes requires a no somewhere else.

Choose wisely.

5. Create a Powerful Second Half to Your Year

Now look ahead.

Ask:

• What do I want to accomplish before this year ends?
• What would make me feel proud when I look back on this year?
• What needs my attention most right now?

Then choose:

One thing to strengthen.
One thing to simplify.
One thing to let go of.

That’s enough.
You don’t need 27 goals.

You need clarity.

The Truth About Fulfillment

The leaders who build meaningful lives aren’t necessarily the ones who have the best plans.

They’re the leaders who are willing to pause, tell themselves the truth, and make adjustments when life changes.

A mid-year review isn’t about judging yourself.

It’s about reconnecting with yourself.

Because the second half of the year can look very different from the first.

But only if you’re willing to stop long enough to choose it.

Awareness is the first step.

Transformation happens when you turn clarity into intentional action.

If you’re ready to move beyond reflection and start building an aligned future, here are a few ways I can support you:

Your turn to reflect a step further:

If you were designing the second half of this year intentionally:

• What would you do more of?
• What would you do less of?
• What needs to change?

And most importantly:

Is the life you’re currently building still aligned with the leader you’re becoming?

If this resonated with you, hit REPLY and tell me:

What is one thing you’re committed to changing in the second half of the year?

I’d love to hear what you’re discovering as you reflect, realign, and reset.
