I see you!
YOU, my friend, are a POWERHOUSE!
You give your all every day seeking growth and fulfillment. You are a businesswoman, an executive, a leader, a business owner, or the head of a nonprofit organization. You lead teams, companies, your family and your community. And you are also a wife, mom, friend, and daughter. Your world NEEDS you!
On one hand it feels great to be needed. On the other, it can feel overwhelming and exhausting. You lead so well at both your work and home life that you sometimes feel overlooked or taken for granted. You are confident but may lack a sense of self worth. You may wonder, do I really matter? Do I have value? Does anyone know how hard this is or see how hard I work?
Despite all the honor and accolades you’ve achieved you may still feel like a failure at home. You struggle with mommy guilt and being gone “too much” from home. You’re always looking for help to juggle the day to day responsibilities of work and home life (housecleaning, child care, meal planning, grocery shopping, chauffeuring children to sports and appointments, etc). And you rarely get any time to yourself. You sometimes (or oftentimes) put yourself on the back burner. For you self care is either a distant dream or you have to schedule in “me” time or personal care or it won’t get done (hair, nails, skincare, exercise, massage, vacation, etc.).
Now that you’ve reached a “certain age” you’re noticing a few more wrinkles than you’d like and perhaps you’ve gained a few pounds. You’re likely either contemplating botox or have fully committed to beauty treatments to look younger so you can “keep your edge”.
When it comes to your romantic relationship, you are looking for a PARTNER, not a roommate. You expect someone who will help you around the house, share child rearing and other day to day responsibilities. You may be the sole or primary breadwinner in your household. You make decisions and care for your family, your company, your colleagues, your team and your community each and every day. You quietly run the show in both work and home life, challenging the status quo and regularly raising the bar. You feel both loved and respected, yet misunderstood and feared. You may intimidate others so have to put on a smile to make others feel comfortable. You sometimes downplay your strengths or hold yourself back from your full potential or the next level for fear of what it will mean for your family. You’re already working so hard, what will this new level mean for you and your family? Can you continue at the pace you’ve been running?
Yet you feel COMPELLED by an unseen force to keep going. Why keep pushing forward? Because you have to! Because you can’t NOT do this thing! You are a trailblazer, a striver, a world changer, a force to be reckoned with! When you see problems and injustices you always speak up! You stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves.
You’ve spent decades juggling your work and home life climbing to the top of your company or industry. And you’ve found that the higher you climb the lonelier it gets! Where are all the other amazing women to link arms with? Where is the support? Why do you hesitate to tell your friends and neighbors when you’ve won an award or knocked it out of the park at work? Because you know you’re different. It’s hard to share your true self when you may be misunderstood or judged. Yet deep down I bet you’re pissed off about this! Why should you have to hide? Screw them! What others see as different or odd or intimidating is your superpower!
So where can you be your true self and celebrate your wins while finding a community who also understands your struggles? I see you and I know this because I’m describing myself. I’ve lived it. I’ve been where you are. I was sick of feeling lonely in something I was so passionate about. I was sick of being told to sit down and shut up. I’m still sick of being one of the few women with a seat at the table. So I set out to uplevel my network and build a community of like minded powerhouse women where we can share our wins and struggles without fear of criticism. Where we can cheer each other on and push each other forward, making connections and providing introductions to reach our next level.
If you are sick of “playing the game” in a man’s world and looking to blaze new trails where you can create your own rules, let’s link arms on this journey together! If you haven’t already, give yourself permission to be your true, authentic self. And come along to get tips and tricks on how to do “all the things” while managing the mental load of being a powerhouse leader both at work and home.
If no one has told you today, YOU MATTER! YOU are enough! YES YOU CAN keep going! Your natural drive to keep learning, growing, and excelling in your chosen field is to be commended. It is your calling and why you were put on this planet. Don’t shrink back or feel like you need to make yourself small to fit in. You have a place here in this community! You are a powerhouse!
