Six years ago, God gave me a dream.
I was standing on a stage in the middle of an arena.
Thousands…
Maybe tens of thousands…
People surrounded me.
In front of me.
Behind me.
To both sides.
It was unlike anything I had ever imagined for myself.
And if I’m honest…
It terrified me.
Not because I don’t enjoy speaking.
Because I couldn’t imagine why anyone would want to listen to me.
Who was I to stand on a stage like that?
What value could I possibly have to offer?
I had spent much of my childhood believing my voice didn’t matter.
The message I absorbed—whether spoken directly or simply modeled around me—was that girls should be quiet. Sit down. Don’t rock the boat. Let the men lead the conversation.
So when God showed me that arena, it didn’t feel exciting.
It felt impossible.
For nearly three years, I mostly laughed it off.
Surely I had misunderstood.
Surely God meant someone else.
The dream was simply too big.
Too public. Too far outside the life I could imagine for myself.
Then, about three years ago, God brought the dream back to my mind.
This time, the message felt unmistakable.
It’s time to get moving.
I still didn’t feel ready.
I was still afraid.
But obedience rarely waits for confidence.
I realized that if I was going to become the woman God was calling me to be, I first had to confront everything that was telling me I couldn’t.
So I hired a coach who specialized in limiting beliefs.
Together, we unpacked years of fear, self-doubt, and the stories I had unknowingly been carrying about my worth, my voice, and what was possible for my life.
Little by little, those beliefs began to lose their grip.
That’s what gave me the courage:
- To write Fulfilled & Limitless.
- To begin speaking.
- To start coaching.
- To keep saying “yes” long before I felt qualified.
Looking back now, I realize something beautiful:
God wasn’t simply preparing me for bigger stages.
He was expanding my vision.
Because every time God gives us a vision that’s bigger than our current reality, it exposes the places where we’ve been thinking too small.
When God Gives You a Bigger Vision
God rarely grows us by handing us something we’re already capable of accomplishing.
He gives us a vision that’s just big enough to stretch our faith…
Just big enough to require dependence…
And just big enough to expose every belief that’s been quietly limiting what He wants to do through us.
That’s exactly what happened to me.
The arena wasn’t just about speaking.
It uncovered beliefs I didn’t even know I was carrying:
- That my voice didn’t matter.
- That I needed someone else’s permission before I could lead.
- That impact belonged to people who were somehow more gifted, more qualified, more experienced, and more important than me.
The bigger the vision became…
the more obvious those beliefs became.
Because that’s what a bigger vision does.
It shines a light on every invisible ceiling we’ve unknowingly placed over our own lives.
The Science Behind Bigger Thinking
Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck’s groundbreaking research on growth mindset found that our beliefs about our own potential dramatically influence what we’re willing to attempt, how long we persevere through challenges, and ultimately what we’re able to accomplish.
Psychologist Albert Bandura’s work on self-efficacy reached a similar conclusion. Our belief in our own ability is one of the strongest predictors of whether we’ll even pursue an opportunity in the first place.
In other words…
Most dreams don’t die because people aren’t capable.
They die because people decide they’re impossible before they ever begin.
Neuroscience offers another fascinating perspective:
Our brains are constantly filtering millions of pieces of information every second through something called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). One of its primary jobs is determining what deserves our attention.
When we believe something is impossible, our brains unconsciously filter out evidence that contradicts that belief.
But when our beliefs begin to change, we suddenly notice:
- Opportunities…
- Relationships…
- Ideas…
- Possibilities…
that were there all along.
The world didn’t change. Our vision did.
Maybe Your Arena Looks Different
Maybe God hasn’t shown you an arena.
Maybe your bigger vision looks different.
Maybe Your Bigger Vision Is:
- Finally writing the book you’ve been carrying inside you.
- Launching the business.
- Applying for the executive role.
- Starting the nonprofit.
- Leading your team differently.
- Going back to school.
- Beginning the ministry.
- Building generational wealth.
- Having another child.
- Starting over after loss.
- Speaking your truth after years of staying quiet.
Whatever your arena looks like…
The size of the dream isn’t actually the issue.
The real question is this:
What belief is telling you it’s impossible?
Because sometimes the greatest barriers aren’t fear.
They’re the stories we’ve accepted as true without ever questioning them.
The assumptions we’ve carried for so long they’ve become invisible.
The vision God has for your life may not be limited by your ability.
It may only be limited by what you’ve decided is possible.
What if the life you’ve been praying for isn’t waiting on another certification, another strategy, or another opportunity…
What if it’s waiting for a bigger vision?
Because every new level requires a new identity.
And every new identity requires letting go of an old story.
That’s uncomfortable.
It’s scary.
But it’s also where transformation begins.
Building Something Bigger
As I’ve continued praying about that arena, something has become increasingly clear.
God wasn’t asking me to dream bigger simply so I could reach more people.
He was preparing me to build something capable of carrying a bigger calling.
Because bigger vision always requires bigger capacity.
Greater capacity requires healthier rhythms.
Better systems.
More support.
Stronger leadership.
Greater stewardship.
That’s why sustainable success has become such a central part of my work.
I’m not interested in helping people simply accomplish more.
I want to help them become the kind of leaders who can carry greater influence without sacrificing themselves in the process.
I see a future where:
- Sustainable success replaces hustle culture.
- Leaders are measured not by how exhausted they are, but by the lives they transform.
- Organizations build systems that help people flourish instead of expecting people to sacrifice themselves for broken systems.
- Women no longer apologize for getting support.
- Ambition and well-being are no longer competing priorities.
- Children grow up watching healthy leadership instead of chronic burnout.
- Asking for help is seen as wisdom instead of weakness.
- Leaders build people—not just profits.
- Influence becomes stewardship instead of status.
- People stop proving their worth and start living from it.
- Leaders build lives they don’t have to recover from.
Because the future isn’t built by exhausted leaders.
It’s built by healthy ones.
And I want to spend the rest of my life helping build that future.
I don’t know exactly where this next chapter will lead.
But I know this: I’m done playing small.
How about you?
Three Questions to Expand your Vision
1. What vision have you outgrown?
Sometimes growth doesn’t require abandoning your mission.
Sometimes it simply requires expanding it.
2. What belief would you have to release if your vision doubled tomorrow?
What story about your future, your abilities, or your calling might no longer fit the person you are being invited to become?
3. What infrastructure do you need to build to support your next chapter?
Big dreams aren’t sustained by good intentions.
They’re sustained by healthy systems.
The right people.
The right rhythms.
The right boundaries.
The right support.
Because sustainable success is never built alone.
